We are recruiting!!! If you would like to be a partnerships office, logistics officer, communications officer or language officer fill out the recruitment form and we'll be in touch. Descriptions of positions below.

Only qualification is to have a desire to help and then depending on the position good communication skills or organization skills or multilingualism. Great for service hours! Great on a resume! Great for getting a job or into a school program!

Partnerships department (3-5 hour/week commitment) - Our partnerships officers will be responsible for facilitating relationships with future speakers for events, with sponsors for funds, with community organizations (i.e. community centres, religious institutions) for them to advertise our events and with the various newcomer/refugee centres in Ottawa. This is a great opportunity to foster connections and learn more about community engagement and stakeholder relations.

Logistics department (2-3 hour/week commitment normally and 3-5 hours/week closer to events) - Our logistics officers will be responsible for coordinating the dates and times of events, venues for events (virtual or in person) and MCing events. This is a great opportunity to learn more about project management and event coordination.

Communications department (2-4 hour/week) - Our communications officers will be responsible for creating content for the Instagram account, promoting events on social media and for maintaining the website with new content and events. This is a great opportunity to learn more about web design, effective communication strategies with the public and social media analytics.

Language department  (2-4 hour/week)-  Our Language officers will attend all events to help facilitate conversation in other languages that the newcomers might be more comfortable using or to help translate answers that people have at webinars, they will also help us to produce advertising and social media products in various languages. They will also help to facilitate our workshop of helping newcomers with administrative struggles or struggles they are having getting involved in activities in the community. This is a great opportunity to practice your language skills, meet new people and get involved in many parts of the organization.
